Back-to-back Holidays

Sdtrk: ‘Two of hearts’ by Stacy Q

Today was Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year. Very odd. I think we had daylight for roughly two hours and eighteen seconds today; it was pretty astonishing. Apart from workin’, I spent most of the day burning countless .mp3s to Cds, which was something that really needed to be done..

And although I still have to purchase an unadorned metal pole of my own, Shi-chan and I would like to remind all and sundry that Festivus is on the 23rd. Remember: Festivus is not considered over until the head of the family has been pinned to the ground. I’m rather looking forward to that bit.

Happy holidays to the lot of you! Better post later soon, or something

Sounds like a great celebration! I missed that ep of Seinfeld, but loved this quote from the link you provided:

Frank Costanza (Jerry Stiller): Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.
Cosmo Kramer: (Michael Richard) What happened to the doll?
Frank Costanza: It was destroyed. But out of that a new holiday was born . . . a Festivus for the rest of us!
Cosmo Kramer: That must’ve been some kind of doll.
    Frank Costanza: She was.

…wonder WHAT kind of doll that was? 😛 And WHY his father was buying it for him? ROFL

As for the ceremony, what if you HAVE no head of the family, and are “celebrating” alone? Does that mean I have to wrestle myself to the ground?

Hm… that might be fun LOL

    Adios and Bono Natalie 😉

‘As I rained blows upon him..’ Best line in anything, ever. 🙂
And what kind of doll? I’m sure there are a couple out there worth engaging in fisticuffs for..

Now technically, PB Shelley, since you’re the head of your household, Lily would have to pin YOU. I’m fairly sure you would agree to these terms. 😉

Enjoy your holidays, you two! And Sweetie says to have a couple of cartons of eggnog for her. 🙂

  3. PBShelley writes:

LOL -DC, I agree, that line cracked me up immediately!

You and the lovely Sidore-chan have a wonderful holiday if I don’t catch you first, and the rest of the readers here as well!

I would have some eggnog, but if you remember from last year’s shoot, Lily has a propensity for drinking it all! (i.e.: Damn! I forgot to buy the eggnog! D’oh!:-/ )

However, I DID manage to snag a nice bitty of Chardonnay 😉

    Ta!

Ooer, I’ll just bet you do, lovey.

    PBS and Lilmonster –
What is it with Dolls and the eggnog? Well, maybe it’s just our lasses, but nevertheless..

Chardonnay is more of a sexy drink, not a fun drink. But then, it depends on what wee Lily wants, no? 😉

Take care, you two! Don’t drink and walk! 🙂

  6. PBShelley writes:

Huh! Really? Chardonnay is a sexy drink?? How ’bout that? I had no idea, all I wanted was some wine to get drunk on LOL
Damn, I have enough of sexy with Lily around 😉

I need to get PLASTERED! You know, for the holiday and all 😀

So, what would the recommendation be to accomplish that? Ouzo? Absinthe? (Ohh yes!) What about?

In the meantime I’ll just be trying this Chardonnay; I thought with such a cool-sounding name, it would HAVE to be… let’s say, “effective”!

In any case, the bottle is big enough to be having SOME effect, once it is drained in any case!

Have a happy and all that everyone!
