Buy a tiny Gynoid, watch a Doll on telly
typed for your pleasure on 13 November 2012, at 7.17 pmSdtrk: ‘No title No.2’ by Hair stylistics
The above photo was taken this August, by the way. Esteemed iDollator/performance artist Amber Hawk Swanson wanted to pick my brains about an upcoming project she’s developing (HINT: it’s Doll-related), and she also wanted to finally meet my better half. Brief times, but fun times!
So this would be another one of those in-between posts that I seem to be fond of these days, wherein I tell you that
+ the HRP-4C Miim figure/kit made by Wave Corporation that I mentioned a couple of posts ago is now available for preorder through such online retailers as Hobby Link Japan and AmiAmi. The kit will sell for about $28 USD — without shipping and handling, of course — and is due for a February 2013 release. If I told you I’d already placed my preorder, would you really be surprised?
+ And Sidore and I will be putting in an appearance on the show Dr Drew on Call tomorrow! No, not Doctor Who; Dr Drew, as in Drew Pinsky. I’m sure he’s a nice bloke, but is his studio bigger on the inside than it is on the outside? The Missus and I will be on via satellite (i.e, Skype), fielding questions about our unusual quote unquote relationship. The show seems more news-oriented than the usual misguided enquiries we get, plus Dr Drew seems like much less of a tosser than the typical American chat show host, so the experience should be rather decent! The programme will be on at 9pm EST.
Coincidentally, we’ll be making this latest telly appearance on what will be my 40th birthday. Before I turned 36, I used to narrow my eyes to flinty slits whenever I heard the phrase ’40 is the new 30′. Recently, though, I’ve had a change of heart! *plants forehead onto desk, emits low moan*

Loving the updates!
To be honest, the thought of you being interviewed by Dr. Drew makes me cringe a little. I remember him being the sympathetic authority figure / voice of reason on his syndicated radio show in the late 90s, but the only time I hear about him in the news nowadays is when he gives unsolicited advice to these celebrity train wrecks. That said, you’re a smart guy, so I’m sure you can hold your own if it turns into something less than desirable. And if not, you can always sic Sidore on him. My feeling is that her tongue is most likely sharper than her teeth 😉

I’m very happy for you and Sidore. But of course the more famous the two of you become the harder it will be to talk to you.
November 13th, 2012 at 11.34 pm
We will be watching! Hope he doesn’t go all tabloid on you. Love the pic of Amber and the Missus.
40? Try being 59. *facepalm* *whimper* Seriously….Happy Birthday Eve! 🙂

Thanks for the updates; they’re easier to manage when they’re in smaller bite-sized bits, eh? Keeping with the metaphor, sometimes we bite off more than we can chew! Well, *I* do LOL
I have to echo Donna’s sentiments; my red flag got raised, if you know what I mean and I think you do. I think! Beware of him trying to “cure/correct” you; those sorts of self-righteous humans are poison. He said un-self-righteously. But you know that so you’ll both do well 🙂
Lovely pic of Sidore-chan with Amber; you know I adore Sidore but that Amber doll sure has a nice smile, if you know & etc 😀 We’re looking forward to your project with interest!
Oh. Lily just screamed “HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYY!~” from her closet. So it was loud. Have a great one and do let us know how Dr Drew treated you.
Best wishes and suffocating fishes,

Hi Davecat,
Just wanted to drop a note wishing you a Happy Birthday to you! (And greetings to Sidore!)

Great photo of Amber and Sidore. Isn’t she big? Or, to be fair, isn’t she small? (Sidore…) But heavy, I’ll bet, like my Joanna, who is a 2008 body 2. A favourite ‘party trick’ of mine is to let a photo/TV crew member hold her for several seconds. The result is at least an eye-popping expression and a dazed individual uttering words of disbelief to everyone nearby, whether connected with the shoot or not!
“…but is his studio bigger on the inside than it is on the outside?”
On Saturday just gone I was with six of my dolls at a studio in London. That place was definitely bigger inside than out. The white walls meet the white floor not at a right-angle, but in a curve. Anyways, the result will be in a magazine (here in the UK) soon.
Good luck with the Dr. Drew thing. (I guess he is a retired artist. Drew. Geddit?)
And, as the saying goes, life begins at 40.

Yes! Agree with Everhard! Life begins at 40, so indulge.

Donna —
As far as doctors-turned-celebrities go, Dr Drew is okay, I suppose. I always argue that if they were really a professional doctor, they’d be in an office somewhere instead of in a studio under klieg lights, but that’s modern culture for you. I’ve dealt with worse presenters, but I’ve also dealt with better.
And Shi-chan has an actual knife in her purse that I gave her in error one day years ago! Her ethos: slash, don’t stab. A fine ethos! And a fine way to live. 🙂

Don’t worry, we’ll never be that famous. 🙂

Well, you would be watching. Scheiße happens!
Hey, Anthony Burgess was in his prime in his sixties! And remember: you’re as young as you feel. Or who you feel. Thankyou and goodnight!!
PBS, ladies —
Sometimes, smaller is better! Behold the mighty Fiat 500, for example.
I try to think of how I did things back in October of 2005; during that month, there was an unparalleled number of posts made. Twenty-one, as it stands. Compared to my current output, I’ve no idea how I did it, apart from shorter posts. I’ve been attempting to use that as my model, and at the very least, it gets me to write more, so that’s always good…
Should Amber get the proper funding, what she told me for her project sounds pretty damned impressive! And both Shi-chan agree with you; she has a lovely smile! She’s also the most conscientious driver I’ve ever witnessed! When she followed me to the restaurant for dinner that day, she was like the only person on the road, it seemed, who was actually driving the speed limit. ‘I’m from Iowa’, she explained. 🙂
And be sure to thank wee Lily for me, and tell her Happy birthday as well! No, that joke never grows old. 🙂

As I live and breathe! How’s it been, squire? You’re like a spectre, fading in and out of existence. We have to do something about that!…
Thank you for the birthday wishes, and of course I’ll give Sidore a kiss for you! Don’t be a stranger! Well, don’t be stranger. 🙂
Everhard —
I owe you an Email! Seriously, I owe you an Email. I am indolence personified.
I like your rather Crowleyan party trick; I might have to pull that on the latest crew that stops round to ours. Not that I have anything against them personally, but thank the gods that our lasses aren’t the original Tank Sophie Mecadolls! ‘Be careful! If she falls on you, you’re staying there for a while!’
Let me know what magazine that is you and your Venusians are appearing in (is that Closer again?), and I’ll keep an eye out for it on this side of the pond.
‘A retired artist’. No no, you’re thinking of the bloke with a seagull on his head. Y’know, Cliff.
Thankyou and goodnight!!

Does this mean I can begin my adventure-laden bacchanal in earnest?? YESSS *dashes off to buy a toga*

Hello Mr.& Mrs.D.Cat
And your still highly amusing and erudite at the same time even though you are now forty…..LOL wait till your sixty six like meees, but then again you will always be the same just a little more wrinkled I guarantee
And remembering Neo from a long time ago , we both seem to be similar in our posting “You’re like a spectre, fading in and out of existence”
But we still keep an eye out for your ramblings, I shall look forward to the “fifty” missive from you if I am still around then 🙂
From Ray and all his little sunbeams

Rents! —
Well, ta very much for the humourous-yet-erudite assessment! Someone’s got to write like this, and I drew the short straw. 🙂
Sixty-six! You old duffer! Well, the way you live with Betty, Mirabel, Cecilia, Matilda, et al, more like ‘you cheeky old duffer’. But you’re only as young as you feel — or who you feel up — so well done! 😉
Taking your lifestyle approach in stride, I figure the more Dolls that live with me, the longer I live, so you might well see a fifty-year post out of me yet! Either that, or I’ll be dictating it to Gynoid Sidore. 🙂
And yeah, both you and Neo are here today, gone tomorrow, back in five months. Are… are you saying that… you’re actually Neo??

The real girl(amber?) is hot! I sure would shag her.
December 20th, 2012 at 7.51 pm
You charmer.
First off, both girls are real, as ‘real’ is properly defined as ‘anything a person can perceive with any of their senses’. Amber is Organik, whereas my wife is Synthetik.
And secondly, as compelling as your request is, I’m fairly certain Amber might not exactly have ‘shagging’ on her mind, particularly by a suave lothario with the name of ‘fuckchamp’ such as yourself. Just so you know.

Oh, that was fun. Thanks to this email noti though, I see that I missed Ray’s salutations above and they went unanswered. Mustn’t have that! So Lily and I send our regards, Rentell and companions 🙂
December 26th, 2012 at 9.37 pm
Y’hear that, Rentell and companions? PBShelley and ladies send their regards!
Thank you! That’ll be twenty-five cents, please. 🙂
